Tree Removal in Bushland

Bushland is a small community on the western edge of Potter County, straddling I-40 and serving mainly as a rural residential and agricultural area for families who want space but still commute into Amarillo. Most properties here are acreage lots developed from the 1970s onward, with a mix of farmhouses and newer rural homes. The area has grown gradually as Amarillo's western edge expanded outward.

A dead or leaning tree in Amarillo can come down fast when the spring thunderstorms roll through the Texas Panhandle. The hard, dry soil out here — especially in older neighborhoods like English Village and Wolflin — doesn't hold roots the way softer ground does, so trees that look stable can fail after a long dry spell followed by a hard rain. Cottonwoods, elms, and hackberries planted in the 1970s and 1980s are getting old, and a lot of them are starting to show it.

We assess every tree on the ground before we touch it — checking lean, root condition, and what's underneath before we make a single cut. Out here the wind comes from the northwest with almost no warning, so we rig and lower branches in sections instead of letting anything fall free near a fence, roof, or power line.
